About your creative guides

Russell Ord

From Rugby League player and Fireman to award winning Ocean and Lifestyle photographer, Russell Ord found his passion through adventure and the discovery of the untouched/unseen wilderness.

Based in Waipu Cove NZ, Russell’s photos blend the environment with real life story telling, his work has been published in magazines and books throughout the world, was awarded the 2016 IPA International Sports Photographer Of the Year at the prestigious Lucie Awards and exhibited in Germany at Photokina 2016 and Tokyo Japan 2017 for FujiFilm.

His life and work has been the subject of the documentary “One Shot” which was broadcasted nationally by the ABC in a seven-part art series and internationally through Film festivals and Garage Entertainment. (

“Its more than just moments in time, it’s about the connection with people and the environment, creating content that reflects this very essence” – Russell Ord.

Andre Rerekura

Spends his time exploring the remote coastlines of Western Australia, capturing stunning film and images, transitioning from above the ocean, to below. He shoots in high resolution with aerial drones and underwater camera equipment, down-to 50 metres, with a focus on marine life and oceanic sustainability, appreciation and awareness.

"The transition from above to below is what I live for. When you're underwater, life above the water is gone, replaced in an instant by a realm you wish you could linger in longer. You really never know what you might see underwater, and I think that’s what keeps me coming back, time and time again. The countless hours in the water have paid off for some pretty amazing images. My mission is to share the big amazing ocean with the world and inspire others to experience the magic for themselves."

Chippa Wilson

Hailing from the northern NSW town of Cabarita, Chippa is one of the most creative and progressive surfers in the world today. Employing a highly explosive and technical approach, Chippa is a dream surfer to shoot and is in high demand with photographers and filmmakers the world over.

Just as creative out of the water as in, one of Chippa’s passions includes photography, at which he is a dab hand! Shooting mainly black and white film Chippa keeps his work traditional, and as anyone with an eye can attest, his talent behind the lens is second only to his surfing.

Chippa is the perfect surfer for the workshop, and will work in perfectly with participants.
